Privacy Statement

Journal of Intelligent Systems and Future Computing (JISFC) is committed to protecting the privacy and personal data of authors, reviewers, editors, and website users, in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Information We Collect

In the course of operating the journal, JISFC collects personal information such as names, email addresses, institutional affiliations, and ORCID identifiers, provided by authors, reviewers, and editorial board members during manuscript submission, peer review, editorial correspondence, and website registration.

Legal Basis and Purpose of Processing

Personal data is processed on the basis of legitimate interest (operating the peer review and publication process) and, where applicable, consent (e.g., newsletter or notification sign-ups). Data is used exclusively for the stated purposes of the journal — manuscript submission and review, editorial communication, and publication — and is not sold, rented, or made available to third parties for marketing purposes.

Data Sharing

Limited personal information may be shared with:

  • Reviewers, for the purpose of conducting peer review (consistent with the journal's double-anonymous review process, which withholds author identity from reviewers)
  • Indexing, archiving, and preservation services, where required for the discoverability and long-term preservation of published content
  • Legal or regulatory authorities, where required by Dutch or EU law

Data Retention

Personal data is retained only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described above, and in accordance with the journal's editorial and archival obligations.

Your Rights Under GDPR

Individuals have the right to access, correct, restrict, or request erasure of their personal data, and to object to its processing, subject to the journal's legitimate archival obligations regarding the scholarly record (e.g., author names on published articles, which cannot be retroactively anonymized once published). To exercise these rights, contact the editorial office at editor@jisfc.com.

Cookies

The journal's website may use cookies solely to support essential website functionality, such as maintaining login sessions. No personal data is collected via cookies for advertising or third-party tracking purposes.
