Retraction and Correction Policy

Journal of Intelligent Systems and Future Computing (JISFC) is committed to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record. When errors or issues are identified in a published article, JISFC addresses them through one of the mechanisms below, consistent with COPE guidelines on corrections and retractions.

Correction (Erratum/Corrigendum)

A correction is issued when a significant error is identified that does not undermine the overall validity or conclusions of the article, such as:

  • An error introduced during editing, typesetting, or production (erratum).
  • A significant author error affecting data, calculations, or interpretation that does not invalidate the article's core findings (corrigendum).

Requests for a correction should be submitted in writing to the editorial office by the corresponding author, describing the error and the proposed correction. The Editor-in-Chief will assess the request and determine the appropriate course of action. Approved corrections are published as a formal notice, linked to the original article.

Retraction

A retraction is issued when an article can no longer be considered a reliable part of the scientific record. Grounds for retraction include, but are not limited to:

  • Clear evidence of research misconduct (e.g., data fabrication or falsification)
  • Plagiarism or duplicate publication
  • Unethical research practices, including lack of required ethical approvals
  • Major errors that fundamentally undermine the article's findings or conclusions
  • Compromised peer review

Retractions are handled in accordance with COPE retraction guidelines. A retracted article remains accessible online, clearly marked as retracted, with a retraction notice linked to and from the original publication, explaining the reason for retraction.

Expression of Concern

Where an issue has been raised about a published article but the investigation is not yet complete, JISFC may publish an Expression of Concern to alert readers while the matter is being examined.

Process

All correction, retraction, and expression-of-concern decisions are made by the Editor-in-Chief, in consultation with the editorial board and, where relevant, the authors' institution. JISFC does not remove retracted articles from its archive; the original article and any associated notice remain permanently accessible to preserve transparency of the scholarly record.

Readers or authors who wish to report a suspected error or concern regarding a published article should contact the editorial office at editor@jisfc.com.
